Newspapers
Tabloids:
The sun
The times
Morning star
They all have very attention grabbing headlines in bold,
large fonts to be the first thing that you see when viewing the newspaper. They
are the main thing that gets readers to choose that paper and so must be bold
and bright; containing photos to give an added factor. Puns are often used or
alliteration as literary devices to add something to a possibly boring title.
Broadsheet:
The herald
The courier
The wall street journal
Many have a larger amount of writing with a smaller font as
the initially contain more information rather than short and snappy titles.
Some contain images on the front of the paper that consume a reasonable amount
of space to attract the reader, whereas others only use smaller photos as they
are not necessarily a tool to attract readers and are more a tool to understand
the passage of text.
